Holiday House

Saturday & Sunday, November 8 & 9 | 11 AM – 3 PM

Take a step back in time and be immersed into an 18th Century Holiday journey at the Austerlitz Historical Society’s 5th Annual Holiday House. On Saturday and Sunday, November 8th and 9th, from 11:00am to 3:00pm, be captivated by the aromas and holiday decor as you explore each beautifully decorated room in the 1794 Morey-Devereaux House on the grounds of Old Austerlitz.  Old Austerlitz is located at 11550 NY Route 22, Austerlitz, NY.

 

Admission is Free, and beverages will be offered in the house.  Also available for purchase will be delicious homemade soups, sandwiches, cookies and cakes.  You can bring home a hint of holiday history, choosing from carefully selected one-of-a-kind gifts, stocking stuffers table decor and flower arrangements.  

 

There will be Wagon Rides  for the kids through the property on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 – 1:30pm. 

 

On Saturday, from 12:30 – 1:30pm feast your ears with music from The Chatham High School Chamber Ensembles.  On Sunday, from 11:30 – 1:30pm, you’ll be treated to the music of Gentlemen Caller, a talented duo of indi folk musicians.  

 

You will be able to observe a local blacksmith, on Sunday, working on his creations in the Robert Engel Blacksmith Shop which dates back to the 1850’s.

 

The 1775 historic Harvey House will also be open and filled with holiday delights, antiques, art and locally crafted products.
